No accounts
No sign-up, no email, no password. Your favorites, history and streaks live on your device.
Anonymous analytics, no ads
We collect usage events under a random device ID to improve the app. No ads, no data sales, no tracking across other apps.
Blocking stays on-device
App shielding runs through Apple's Screen Time on iOS and the Accessibility Service on Android. We never see which apps you block or use.
Overview
Rhemack ("the app") is developed by Kakyire Technologies. The app works without user accounts. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes: the setup details you enter during onboarding, anonymous usage analytics, and optional subscription purchases.
Information you provide during onboarding
When you set up the app, onboarding asks a few questions about you โ including a display name and details about your spiritual life and phone habits. These answers are part of the setup flow and are stored locally on your device. They are used to personalize your daily verse reflections.
Because some of these details relate to your religious life, we treat them with particular care: they are used for one purpose only โ personalizing your reflections (see the next section). They are never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared except as needed to generate your reflection. If you want them removed, contact us at the address below and we will help.
Daily verses, AI reflections & our backend
Daily verse content is delivered from our backend. When the app generates a personalized reflection, it sends the verse together with your onboarding answers (including your display name) to our backend, which uses a third-party AI service to write the reflection.
- These requests are used to generate your reflection โ not to build an advertising profile.
- Generated reflections are cached on your device, so re-reading a verse does not re-send anything.
- Like any internet service, our backend receives standard connection data (such as your IP address) when the app talks to it.
Usage analytics (Mixpanel)
We use Mixpanel to understand how Rhemack is used so we can improve it. Analytics are recorded under a random device-scoped identifier โ not your name, email or phone number, none of which are sent to Mixpanel. Events we record include:
- app opens, first launch and general session information (including device model, OS version and app version);
- onboarding progress and whether permissions (notifications, Screen Time) were granted;
- verse engagement โ viewing, marking as read, favoriting, sharing, including the verse reference;
- reading-streak updates;
- how many apps or categories you shield โ not which ones;
- paywall views and daily reminder deliveries.
Mixpanel processes this data on our behalf and may not use it for its own purposes. We do not use analytics for advertising, and we do not sell this data. To request deletion of analytics data associated with your device, contact us at the address below.
Purchases & subscriptions (RevenueCat)
Rhemack offers an optional premium upgrade. Payment is handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play โ we never see your card details. To know which features to unlock, we use RevenueCat, which receives transaction details (product, price, purchase and renewal dates) from the store along with an anonymous app user ID. This is used solely to manage your entitlement across app launches.
App blocking data
App blocking runs on your device through each platform's own system mechanism โ Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework on iOS, and the Accessibility Service on Android, which you enable explicitly after an in-app disclosure. In both cases:
- We do not receive which apps you have installed, which you block, or when you open them โ that information is processed on your device.
- The Android service is configured so that it cannot read screen content, and it does not access messages, passwords or typed text.
- Our analytics record only the number of apps and categories you shield โ never which ones.
What stays on your device
Your favorites, verse history, reading streaks, growth insights, cached reflections, notification preferences and onboarding profile are stored locally on your phone or tablet. Deleting the app deletes this local data. If you use your platform's device backup (iCloud on iOS, Google backup on Android), it may be included in your own encrypted backup, which we cannot access.
What we don't do
- No advertising SDKs and no ads โ ever.
- No selling or renting of your data to anyone.
- No tracking of you across other apps or websites.
- No access to your contacts, photos, location or messages.
- No reading of any content inside the apps you block.
Notifications
Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Notifications can be turned off at any time in your device settings and are never used for third-party marketing.
Data security & retention
Data on your device is protected by your device's built-in encryption and your passcode or biometric lock. Data sent to our backend travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Analytics are retained by Mixpanel under our account settings; you can request deletion at any time. Local data is removed when you delete the app.
Children's privacy
Rhemack is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13. The app contains no ads and no chat features, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal details through onboarding, contact us and we will help remove them.
Your choices & rights
- Personalization details: to have the onboarding answers used for your reflections removed, email us and we will help delete them.
- Delete local data: deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.
- Delete analytics/backend data: email us and we will delete data associated with your device identifier.
- Stop shielding: remove shielded apps in the app, revoke Screen Time permission in iOS Settings, or disable the Accessibility Service in Android Settings.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA or UK), you may have legal rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
